The Cedarfield II pool is our most popular amenity and largest investment. It features a 6 lane, 25-meter section with depths from three to five feet, a 9-foot deep area for free swimming, and a baby pool separated from the main pool by a fence. Because of the deep area we have lifeguards on duty at all times the pool is open. The pool is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. During early June, and later in August, the pool is only open on weekends. Summer hours begin the first day of summer break for the CMS schools. Hours vary from day to day and are generally from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., with longer hours on weekends. It is a family-centered pool with fun activities sponsored by the Social Committee as well as being the home of our championship swim team, the Cedarfield Sharks. The pool is a great place for community, relaxation, and fun.
Pool memberships are available for Cedarfield Plantation (C1) residents through a reciprocal agreement with the associations and a nominal fee. A limited number of outside pool memberships are available for purchase for residents of other communities that do not have a pool. Contact CSI Communities for information about pool memberships.
Welcome to the Cedarfield Sharks Swim team! Our goals are to introduce your child(ren) to the fundamentals of swimming and have fun while competing. We swim against Davis Lake, Skybrook, Wynfield Forest, Winchester and Wellington. There are six regular season meets and a championship meet at the end of the season. The team is comprised of resident children from all three Cedarfield neighborhoods (Cedarfield Plantation (C1), Cedarfield II, Cedarfield Park).

The Cedarfield II playground underwent a major renovation and relocation closer to the pool area in 2018. Features include slides and a “super sonic spinner”. Our new playground is fun, safe, and very durable.
There is a basketball hoop in one corner of the pool parking lot.
The big lawn is the area underneath the large power lines that cross Cedarfield. Because of use restrictions from Duke Energy we cannot have any permanent features in the area so it is maintained with grass as a space for play. This space is great for kicking around a soccer ball, or for sledding when there is enough snow in the winter. A gaga pit is off to one side near the swingset.
Cedarfield has multiple connections to the Torrence Creek Greenway, which offers 1.4 miles of paved walking and biking trails. The tree lined, and canopied paths run alongside and over streams of various sizes and offer easy access at several different points throughout the community. The Greenway provides a place to enjoy natural beauty and opportunities to catch glimpses of the local wildlife such as deer, rabbits, frogs, beaver, and wild turkeys. The path provides walking & biking access to Rosedale Shopping Center and the new Huntersville Nature Park and Dog Park. Future extensions of the greenway will connect to the McDowell Creek Greenway and the Huntersville Vine greenway on the East side of I-77.
Latta Nature Preserve offers a variety of activities including an interpretive nature center, miles of trails for hiking, biking or horseback riding, the Carolina Raptor Center, picnic areas and water access onto Mountain Island Lake for canoes and kayaks.
